Step into a role where your financial expertise truly shapes project success. We are looking for a proactive and detail‑driven Project Accountant to join our team at the Basildon site. You'll work a hybrid schedule, spending at least two days per week onsite with project teams.
The role supports the Financial Controller, taking ownership of financial and project reporting for a defined portfolio of projects. This includes delivering accurate, timely and meaningful management information, and acting as a trusted advisor to project teams for confident decisions.
What You'll do as Project Accountant
* Support the Financial Controller with preparation of sector monthly forecasts, including assumptions, risks and opportunities, and explanation of forecast movements.
* Perform analysis and prepare reports in accordance with the issued monthly timetable.
* Support the business in producing robust monthly Contract Status Reports (CSRs) and quarterly Sales and Margin Trading Plans.
* Post journals to accurately reflect project costs and trading positions.
* Work with the Project Team/budget holders to understand forecast, Business Plans and CSR movements.
* Support the financial input required as part of the bid process.
* Reconciling financial data and resolving problems/issues where appropriate to ensure integrity of information provided.

* AAT qualification or progress toward CIMA/ACCA (highly desirable).
