Job Summary:
His Majesty's Naval Base Clyde (HMNB Clyde) is home to the United Kingdom's Strategic Nuclear Deterrent, Astute Class Attack Submarines, First Mine Counter Measure Squadron and 43 Cdo Royal Marines. It is an operational support and maintenance base, within the Navy Command TLB and comprises both Faslane and Coulport sites. HMNB Clyde's primary purpose is to provide engineering and logistical support to the Royal Navy in maintaining Continuous at Sea Deterrent (CASD). This is achieved by ensuring at least one Vanguard Class submarine is on patrol at sea every day of the year.

RNAD Coulport is responsible for the storage, processing, maintenance and issue of the Trident Weapon System and the ammunitioning of all submarine-embarked tactical weapons.

Support Capability 1 post works within the Deputy Head Support Capability Department of the NBC Clyde organisation. The Support Capability 1 will support Assistant Support Capability to review and inform future support arrangements by ensuring a clear understanding of service currently provided and developing a robust understanding of gaps in provision. Support improvements of current support arrangements. Support the development of a clear, cohesive, and robust understanding of the Future Demand Signal within a Clyde Integrated Operating Framework. Maintain a comprehensive and cohesive Master List of Assumptions (MDAL) for support arrangements at HMNB Clyde, ensuring they are captured in the baseline capacity and capability statement. Provide information packs when required to support Deputy Hd Asst Sup for input into NBC governance forums - managing staff, consulting with stakeholders, and cultivating consensus through integration and innovation. Work closely with the Clyde Portfolio Office and a number of key stakeholders, including Commercial, Finance etc.

This position is advertised at 37 hours a week.

Job Description:
This post is responsible for the following tasks:

Support and maintain a 10-year Support Capability Plan informed by Establishment Management Plan, strategic change and asset management and prioritised by operational and support capability demand.

Support and maintain the NSIGN Master List of Assumptions for support arrangements at Clyde.

Build a network of key stakeholders to lead and promote collaborative ways of working in support of the improvements for capacity and capability.

Create and maintain the Clyde NSIGN Documentation Architecture.

User of relevant contract management systems, such as COMPASS, MIDAS and CP&F, ensuring information contained within is updated, correct, authorised etc., as per the system processes. Provide data analysis as required to support governance processes.

Maintain an overview of interdependencies across Faslane and Coulport sites in support of NSIGN.

Support specific work packages within the scoping of future support arrangements as part of NSIGN and other support or partnering arrangements at Clyde in collaboration with DIO, SDA,DES and Babcock stakeholders and support the development of a considered commercial strategy for Clyde support requirements.

Lead on Clyde NSIGN Communications.

Engage NCHQ Scrutiny, Finance Director (Navy), DE&S (where relevant), SDA, CIP SRO and other stakeholders to ensure timely Support Strategy development and supporting Business Case approvals.

Line Management of Support Capability 2 and 3, to include setting direction, reviewing progress against objectives, reviewing progress against personal and development training plans, appraising and rewarding performance, managing poor performance.

Manage and deliver any other identified projects tasked by Asst Support Capability (identified in PADR).

Maintain a collaborative approach with Delivery Agents, their Industry Partners and their supply chains.

This post offers First Appointment Expenses to new recruits to the Civil Service to assist with costs incurred as a result of relocation or move of home (HM Revenue and Customs restrictions apply). Reimbursement of expenses up to the value of £8k will apply only when a move of home is deemed to be necessary.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.

The candidate should be highly organised with experience of working in an operational environment and have previous experience of stakeholder management and engagement at all levels. The post requires excellent communication skills and be able to work under pressure as part of a team and individually with minimal supervision.

A person who will thrive on being part of a team to build and deliver the NBC Clyde future support contracts and dependencies, leading integration with key stakeholders. This individual will play a pivotal role in establishing and communicating the future support contracts for HMNB Clyde.
