Academy: Outwood Academy Foxhills
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: £26,690 - £27,577
Working Pattern: 37 Hours per week, Monday to Friday, Term Time plus 10 days
Overview
Outwood Academy Foxhills are looking to appoint an organised, enthusiastic Learning Manager with excellent communication skills. You will play a critical role in nurturing student potential by focusing on welfare, strategic intervention, and data‑driven monitoring. This position is ideal for someone passionate about removing academic and behavioural barriers to learning, ensuring all students thrive in a supportive setting, and effectively managing complex student cases in collaboration with external agencies.
Responsibilities
* Strategically monitor all students in the assigned year group, using MIS systems and Praising Stars data to identify concerns and implement appropriate interventions.
* Act as the first point of contact for behaviour‑related incidents and support the consequences process, including contacting parents regarding exclusions and readmission meetings.
* Lead inter‑agency liaison, chair Children in Need and Team Around the Child meetings, undertake referrals for families, and support the Education Welfare Officer with truancy sweeps.
* Coordinate year group logistics such as vaccinations and photographs and handle attendance checks.
Qualifications
* Experience working in a school environment with demonstrable knowledge of issues affecting students and young people.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, across a wide range of audiences.
* Proficiency in standard ICT packages, including Microsoft Office.
* Adept at working under pressure, managing competing deadlines, and recognising potential child safeguarding issues.
* Desirable experience working with agencies that support vulnerable students.
