Andover Mind is one of Hampshire's leading mental health charities. With 1 in 6 young people experiencing a mental health problem (and this is expected to rise), we have launched our "Be You" young persons service.
The Youth Services Team Leader is responsible for leading the small Youth Services Team along with their own caseload. You will be supporting young people who are experiencing poor mental health by using early intervention services.
Reporting to the Head of Community Services and Development, you will be responsible for managing a number of different strands in our evolving youth offer including the young person's twice weekly sessions and drop in service and therapeutic group programme.
The post-holder will be passionate about the power of youth work and the role of communities in meeting the needs of young people and deliver projects of consistently high quality that are of clear benefit to young people. The ideal candidate will be qualified to City & Guilds/BTEC Health & Social Care (Level 2) or equivalent, experience in managing a team and of working in a multi-disciplinary team and with other agencies.
The post is for 6 hours per week to be worked 5.30 - 8.30pm on a Wednesday and 1.30-4.30pm on a Saturday.
We are looking for an organised, self-motivated team leader, with experience of supporting vulnerable young people. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to professionally share coping, self-help and self-management techniques with the team and the young people we support.
