An established law firm based in Central London is seeking a highly motivated Criminal Solicitor (Financial Services) to join their reputable Criminal Litigation team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of financial regulation and criminal law, advising both firms and individuals regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Applicants with experience advising or working within the FCA are strongly encouraged to apply.
Role and focus
The Criminal Solicitor (Financial Services) will be part of the wider Financial Services Group, contributing to a growing caseload of contentious financial matters. While the role is primarily contentious in nature, the firm welcomes applicants with non-contentious experience who are looking to diversify their practice. The role will also involve working closely with other departments, including employment, dispute resolution and company commercial teams.
Responsibilities
* Acting in defence of clients under regulatory and criminal investigation.
* Advising on FCA enforcement and compliance matters.
* Supporting internal investigations and witness representations.
* Working cross-departmentally with employment and commercial teams.
Qualifications
* 1-6 years' PQE, ideally with a focus on criminal or regulatory law.
* Solid experience acting for or against the FCA, or advising FCA-regulated entities.
* Exposure to investigations or enforcement matters, ideally involving financial crime.
* Excellent analytical and written communication skills.
* A UK qualified solicitor with relevant SRA registration.
