General Services ManagerConocoPhillips (UK), Teesside Operators Ltd, Seal Sands, Middlesbrough, TS2 1UHSalary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum plus benefitsHours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday (some flexibility required)Requirements: Driving licenceTesting: Drug and alcohol test on first day, with random testing thereafterAbout the RoleAs the General Services Manager (GSM) at ConocoPhillips, you will lead all on-site services, including cleaning, catering, pest control and and some ad-hoc technical services. You will oversee the Assistant GSM, Catering Manager, and wider operational teams, ensuring day-to-day operations run smoothly, high-quality standards are maintained, and contractual obligations are met.This is a senior leadership role requiring strong operational management, people leadership, and experience in facilities management across cleaning and catering services.You will act as the primary liaison between Sodexo and the client, managing all services to agreed SLAs while driving continuous improvement and commercial performance.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational LeadershipLead all on-site services, ensuring quality, compliance, and SLA deliveryOversee the Assistant GSM, Catering Manager, and operational teamsLiaise with pest control and Sodexo technical services team for ad-hoc hard FM quotes and workFor full list of responsibilities please see the job description attachedClient & Business ManagementAct as the primary interface between Sodexo and the client, building strong, trust-based relationshipsEnsure contracts are delivered profitably and efficiently, managing costs and budgets effectivelyFinancial & Commercial OversightManage site budgets, costs, and stock controlEnsure accurate billing and invoicing through systems such as SAP and E-ProphitLeadership & People ManagementLead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team across multiple service areasDrive onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planningPromote employee engagement through Sodexo's Employee Value PropositionHealth, Safety & ComplianceMaintain a safe working environment in line with health and safety, food hygiene, and statutory requirementsLead initiatives in line with Sodexo's Zero Harm safety mindsetContinuous Improvement & InnovationDrive innovation, cost efficiency, and quality improvements across all servicesPromote best practices, Sodexo standards, and corporate values on siteRepresent Sodexo externally as a senior ambassador for the brandWhat You'll BringProven experience in senior people management and operational leadershipStrong financial and commercial acumenExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and workloadsExperience in facilities management across cleaning, catering, or related servicesIOSH Managing Safely qualification or willingness to work towardsExperience delivering training and developing teamsAbility to balance client expectations with operational demandsWhy Sodexo?Working with Sodexo is more than a job — it's a chance to be part of something greater.
