Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities. We work hard to enrich the lives of people with many different care needs. It’s exciting and rewarding work, and we’re full of pride and passion for what we do. Since the early days, we’ve grown to provide many innovative and bespoke care services to thousands of people across England and Scotland. We want to provide support based on the principles of choice, dignity, and respect. This resonates in our vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and our strategy ‘Best Lives Possible’. We have strong values and are proud to pioneer new ways of delivering social care to stand out in our sector. In the past two years, we have won or made the shortlist for over national and regional awards! We are also focused on our people. Our Support Workers are dedicated and passionate about going ‘the extra mile’ for the people we support, and in return, we invest in pay, recognition, wellbeing, and continued professional and personal development. We will provide you with all the training, support, and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.

Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: Are you an experienced Care Assistant or Support Worker? We are currently recruiting for Bank/Relief Male Support Workers to join the team supporting 6 gentlemen in a large bungalow in the Drumoyne/Govan area of Glasgow. The people we support have faced many challenges due to their learning and physical disabilities, but they enjoy activities like walks, socializing, music, aromatherapy, and gardening. They are always open to trying new things and appreciate inventive support.

The team works well together to ensure the people we support are happy and safe. The role can be physically demanding and includes administering medication (full training provided). The service is medically complex, requiring good communication with health professionals. The shifts are typically 2 x 14-hour and 1 x 9-hour shifts per week, across 7 days on a rota. Experience in social care or healthcare is essential, especially supporting non-verbal individuals. A female colleague is required for this role as a genuine occupational requirement under the Equality Act.

Our values: We know it takes a special person to work in social care, and we value diverse backgrounds and experiences. We look for people who share our core values: We Include; We Deliver; We Aspire; We Respect; We Enable. We seek individuals with patience, empathy, compassion, a strong work ethic, reliability, honesty, determination, problem-solving skills, and resilience.
