Your role:
The post holder will contribute to delivery of the goals of the Homelessness and Migration team, with a focus on Asylum, Migration and Integration.
The team has an ambitious change mission as part of wider Public Service Reform Directorate, and the planned GM Migration and Integration Strategy, to support the development of person-centred and inclusive services for all within Greater Manchester.
You will provide high-quality project and policy support that is flexible and broad-ranging, and have the opportunity to drive genuine change in a complex area.
The post holder will support the commissioning and management of innovative programmes, including Youth Homelessness Pathfinder, the Restricted Eligibility Support Service for non-UK nationals facing homelessness and the new Refugee Welcome Programme.
You will be in regular contact with internal and external strategic partners, including local authorities, voluntary and community sector organisations, the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, and key Providers.
About you:
We are looking for someone with a real interest in making a difference through local and regional government and in partnership with the voluntary sector and people with lived experience, who can contribute to this policy area with enthusiasm and a can-do attitude.
You will work in an ambitious team to support policy, strategy and projects and use your strong organisational, analytical, planning and communications skills on a regular basis. Passion and interest in our mission is important, but you do not need to be a subject expert. You will be able and willing to learn, using a range of internal systems and processes. You will be able to manage your own workload and take part in continuous professional development activities to improve your own learning.
