We are looking for an Environments Manager responsible for overseeing, maintaining, and optimizing IT environments used for software development, testing, and deployment. This role ensures that development, staging, and production environments are properly configured, stable, and available to support the software delivery lifecycle (SDLC). Please note: occasional travel will be required across Reading/London, and all candidates must hold active SC clearance due to customer requirements.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
* Environment Provisioning & Configuration: Set up and manage development, testing, and production environments, ensuring proper configuration and maintenance.
* Infrastructure Management: Oversee cloud infrastructure, ensuring performance, scalability, and security.
* Monitoring & Issue Resolution: Monitor environments, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime.
* Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with development, QAT, DevOps, and operations teams for seamless integration and deployment.
* Automation & Optimization: Implement automation tools and processes to improve efficiency.
* Access & Security Management: Ensure security policies are followed, manage access controls, and enforce data protection best practices.
* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation and provide system health and usage reports.
Required qualifications:
* Strong expertise in environment management, infrastructure, and system administration.
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises infrastructure.
* Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and configuration management tools.
* Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Ability to troubleshoot networking, security, and system performance issues.
* Strong collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional teamwork.
* Experience with ITIL, Agile, or DevOps methodologies.
Desirable Experience:
* Environment management, infrastructure operations, or DevOps experience.
* Hands-on automation scripting skills.
* Understanding of database management and cloud-native architectures.
