We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Kensal Green, London for a Permanent Veterinary Nurse to join their team.
The practice is looking for an empathetic and ambitious RVN who has good experience working in a small animal practice. The role will involve all aspects of nursing and you will be prepared to develop your skills by collaborating with the wider team. You will perform your nursing duties with confidence to provide the gold standard of care to the practice's loyal clients by assisting vets in surgical procedures. You must have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Your nursing duties will involve managing the kennels, assisting in the operating theatre, and consulting.
This role is full time for 35 hours per week over 5 days with shifts between 8am and 5pm, along with weekends on a rota. Part time hours can be considered. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.
Duties:
7. Admit animals for surgery and discharge to owners with full aftercare instruction.
8. Prepare patients for surgical procedures
9. Monitor anaesthesia and recovery of patients undergoing surgical procedures.
10. Administer medications and medical treatments under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon
11. Provide the highest standard of nursing care and husbandry for hospitalized patients.
12. Ensure patient records are completed and up-to-date, including hospital care sheets and clinical records onthe practice management system.
13. Undertake nursing consultations within the scope of service of the Community Veterinary Clinic.
14. Ensure clinical areas are well stocked, practicing good stock rotation to minimise waste.
15. Cover telephone and general reception duties as required to support the reception team
