Timber Frame Designer
CCG Group is looking to recruit an Experienced Timber Frame Designer to assist our busy Offsite Manufacturing Division in progressing the development of our OSM product and service.
CCG is an industry-leading multi-faceted organisation undertaking all forms of construction projects including new build, refurbishment, conversion, and stock improvement, with a range of added-value services tailored to individual client requirements. Our OSM division provides specialist offsite timber building system components along with pre and post-contract design support.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic experienced Timber Frame Designer with a strong technical background, good knowledge of design and excellent interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the use of relevant design tools and possess an extensive knowledge of both timber frame design principles and on-site practical construction methods. You must have a broad knowledge of all relevant technical standards and building regulations.
Salary: Dependent on skills/experience
Hours : Full time, Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm, Friday 8.30 am to 4.00 pm; with additional hours worked as workload requires. (Flexibility to start and finish early or later)

Contract: Permanent
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Technical Knowledge of the application of timber frame design across a variety of sectors – including social and private housing; low-rise and flatted developments; commercial & industrial projects.
2. Capability to check and sign off engineered floor joists and roof truss design drawings.
3. Capability to liaise with external parties (engineers, architects & other design consultants; client bodies and supply chain members.
4. Experience designing timber frame buildings using AutoCAD-based design software.
5. Ability to produce quality manufacturing standard design outputs, within a busy environment, to tight deadlines.
6. Ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team
7. A knowledge of closed-panel timber frames and designing for automated production is preferred but not essential.
Full driving license required.
The main purpose of this role is to support the growth of our business through the design development of our innovative off-site manufactured iQ system. Through appropriate training, the role demands excellent technical capabilities, attention to detail and close working with our own internal staff, manufacturing facility and site teams. Work would include inputs across the entire project lifecycle with a focus on front-end design for manufacture.
