Job title: Health & Safety Officer
Our customer manufacturers high-end products servicing the marine sector with an ever-increasing product range. Customer expectations are excellence in product design, cost and delivery performance.
They are are seeking a NEBOSH qualified, professional with a track record gained from working within a high-risk environment. The right candidate will be experienced in working closely with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
As an H&S Officer, you will take responsibility for the day to day coordination of Health & Safety across the Norfolk site.
The successful candidate will specifically assist the leadership teams and team members across the site in ensuring safe working practices are adhered so there is no team member harm.
As H&S Officer you will act as a role model to the whole business with the expectation that team Members will be empowered to support you, and the success of the team.

Key responsibilities will include:
* To ensure COSHH regulations are adhered to and records maintained
* Undertake risk assessments where necessary.
* Working with colleague based at sister company in Havant, guide and support the company in the compliance and monitoring of all H&S standards, policies, procedures, and management systems.
* Working with the HSE Office based in Havant, ensure HSE improvement plans are developed within the company, implemented, and monitored in compliance with UK legal requirements and the corporate strategy.
* To provide expertise and specialist advice to the company leadership team and team members as required.
* Providing training, guidance and coaching to line managers and team members to enable them to understand and effectively utilise the HSE Management systems.
* To support and enable effective Accident and Incident investigations to be completed in order to identify the immediate and underlying causes and the appropriate corrective actions.
* To provide the appropriate level of challenge and help in developing actions to avoid repeat incidents.
* Facilitate the effective communication of H&S issues and learning points generated by site observations and from the corporate HSE teams.
* To identify themes and help develop, implement, and monitor H&S activities.
* To maintain the company health screen register to ensure all team members receive health surveillance appropriate to their role.
* To coordinate a team of H&S Reps, arrange regular meetings and communicate outcomes to the leadership team.
Your experience/qualities will include:
* NEBOSH certified, preferably an IOSH member.
* Consistent career history undertaking HSE management in high risk entities, with up to date knowledge of current UK legislation covering HSE.
* H&S system auditing experience.
* Clear understanding and belief in behavioural based H&S leadership.
* Proven ability to run multiple projects simultaneously.
* Track record of developing strategy and converting into action plans to meet desired goals.
* Ability to work in a calm, controlled approach with a keen eye for detail
* Ability to manage and prioritise workload
* Self-starter and able to use initiative.
* Good communication skills
* Computer literate
* Demonstrate and lead by example the Company’s core values and leadership qualities
