Ocean Infinity is seeking a SD-WA N Engineer with deep expertise in SD-WAN technology to design, implement, and optimize wide area network solutions across our global enterprise. Reporting to the Infrastructure Lead, this role requires a strong understanding of SD-WAN architectures, network security, and cloud based networking. The ideal candidate will also have hands on experience supporting data intensive operations in low bandwidth, high latency environments, such as those found in remote or satellite connected locations. A strong background in satellite communications (GEO/LEO) is highly desirable, as this role will focus on designing resilient, high performance networks for geographically distributed, remote, and maritime operations. This role will play a key part in evolving Ocean Infinity’s global connectivity platform from manual network management toward intelligent orchestration across hybrid satellite and terrestrial networks. What will you do: Develop and implement WAN solutions to optimize performance, security, and scalability across global locations ; Engineer WAN architectures that support high volume data transfers over constrained networks ; Design low-bandwidth, high-latency optimized network solutions using GEO and LEO satellite networks, ensuring reliability and seamless integration with terrestrial and wireless networks ; Design and implement automated network policy frameworks that dynamically adjust traffic prioritization based on operational requirements. Analyze operational traffic patterns, application behaviours, and satellite link performance to design automated bandwidth management strategies that prioritize mission critical workloads. ; Develop telemetry and observability capabilities that monitor bandwidth utilization, application performance, and satellite link health to inform automated network optimization. Design and implement intelligent bandwidth orchestration strategies that dynamically allocate network capacity across GEO and LEO links based on application priority, cost, and operational requirements. Integrate network policy engines with operational and project management systems to enable automated network configuration based on mission or project requirements. Manage provider service contracts, including coordination of bandwidth allocation changes, service upgrades, and communications to ensure continuous and efficient connectivity. Ensure SD-WAN solutions are designed and implemented according to best practices for Zero Trust security, including strong encryption, network segmentation, and adherence to relevant regulatory compliance standards ; Implement WAN solutions that integrate with Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud, optimizing connectivity for remote and cloud workloads ; Develop highly available network architectures with automated failover and redundancy strategies ; Work with SD-WAN vendors, satellite providers, and telecommunications partners to optimize network performance and SLAs ; Conduct performance testing and troubleshooting for SD-WAN deployments, satellite links, and hybrid network models ; Maintain detailed network architecture documentation and provide training to IT operations teams. Who you are: 7 years of experience in WAN architecture utilizing SD-WAN solutions ; Expertise in SD-WAN platforms such as Cisco Viptela, Fortinet, Versa, Silver Peak, VMware Velocloud, or similar ; Experience automating network configuration and policy using tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, or API-driven SD-WAN controllers ; Experie nce working wit h WAN acce leration technol ogie s ; Strong understanding of routing protocols, network segmentation, and traffic engineering; Experience leveraging network telemetry, analytics platforms, or monitoring systems to drive automated traffic engineering decisions ; Experience working with data intensive applications over constrained networks, including latency mitigation strategies and bandwidth optimization ; Proficiency with scripting or automation languages such as Python to automate network configuration, telemetry analysis, and traffic policy deployment. Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and network security best practices ; Strong experience designing networks for low-bandwidth and high-latency environments, including WAN acceleration, traffic shaping, and application aware routing ; Ability to design redundant and resilient network topologies across multiple connection types (MPLS, broadband, LTE/5G, satellite) ; Thoughtful, thorough and conscientious; Interested in others and strives to act in the best interests of the team; Ability to work as a trusted advisor with senior stakeholders; Driven, proactive and able to work autonomously with little supervision towards the company's purpose; Open and receptive to new and different ideas; Ability to work well in a team and independently; Enthusiastic about protecting people and the planet. Bachelor’s degree in I nformation T echnology, Computer Science or related degree. Salary : The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades.
