An Automation Engineer will be a key part in the direction, determination and implementation of exceptional engineering and technical standards across the Deeside site. This person will support new process and escalated breakdown coverage. Key Responsibilities: The Automation Engineer will support all manufacturing processes at the Deeside site with the clear objective of restoring and improving plant reliability in a fully automated, regulated, and demanding environment. • Demonstrates a high level of creativity in development of new or improved processes, systems, prototypes, components, materials, machinery, and equipment, in support of the manufacturing, conversion and packaging of Convatec products. • Support the operations team in line recovery and associated engineering activities. • Support in the investigation and completion of quality objectives related to technical and process matters through the companies CAPA and NC procedures. • Identify, justify, and manage engineering projects across site to maintain compliance, address risk, improve machine performance and deliver cost savings. • Support New Product and Process introduction. • Ensures a seamless transition from process development stage to positive manufacturing performance while assuring compliance with regulatory and safety procedures. • Accountable for the interpretation, presentation, collection, and distribution of process performance metrics. • Identify opportunities to improve process capability, machine performance and uptime through engineering led initiatives. • Responsibility for the complete and correct handover of Control aspects of new equipment from the integration team to plant. • Talking with data, ensure clear and robust solutions are put in place to performance and/or quality issues throughout the Deeside site. • Institutes and evaluates new procedures for improved safety and quality, using regulatory guidelines and Gaps. • Develops new systems and practices to enhance the performance of the business. • Able to judge the technical complexity of a project and assign tasks as needed to complete. • Supports the effective integration of new machinery/technology and products/materials into Deeside Operations. • Ability to work in a Safe manner to maintain the welfare of self and colleagues and maintains the highest standards of housekeeping and GMP in all aspects of work. Qualification/Education This role requires the candidate to be HNC or degree qualified with an electrical/Controls bias within an engineering discipline, with a time-served engineering apprenticeship. • Craft technician qualifications • NVQ 4: Specified PLC qualification, C&G, ONC/HNC, BTEC in an appropriate Engineering Discipline, or equivalent Travel Requirements Minimal as required for business needs (International & Domestic) Languages • Speaking: English • Writing/Reading: English
