Do you wish you could live in an area of outstanding natural beauty with excellent local schools and further education facilities, whilst still only 2 hours from Glasgow? Do you want to get out of the rat race and conveyer belt mentality, and work where there is time to really deliver patient-centred care? Do you want to work with a new and innovative on call system that offers a good work-life balance?

Look no further; this is all possible if you join the Argyll and Bute CHP Radiology Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced radiographer/sonographer to join our small friendly team. There is flexibility in this post, and ideally, we are looking for an experienced sonographer who is interested in regaining/maintaining general radiography skills, scanning 3-4 days a week and spending 1-2 days a week maintaining plain film and basic CT skills.

You will be supported clinically by another sonographer/radiographer colleague and by an onsite Radiologist. Another five specialist radiographers complete our small team.

The Lorn and Islands Hospital, the Rural General Hospital for Argyll and Bute, is in Oban, but you will also be required to work independently at varied sites within Argyll and Bute CHP.

The Radiology Department at Lorn and Islands Hospital provides a 24/7 service, undertakes CT, interventional fluoroscopy and ultrasound examinations together with general radiography work including A+E work. The department runs 9-5 Monday – Friday, with evenings and weekends covered by an on call duty.

We support and encourage CPD and role development and our ideal candidate would be forward thinking and committed to service improvement and who would welcome the opportunity to work independently, whilst still being part of a small dynamic team.

If you are interested in living and working in this beautiful rural area and trying out a more stress-free existence away from urban life, then this is your opportunity.

For more information call Chloe Geddes, Argyll and Bute Lead Radiographer on 01631 789101 and discuss what opportunities exist or arrange an informal visit or email: chloe.geddes@nhs.scot
