Elderholme Nursing Home, a registered Charity, was originally conceived in 1990 by local citizens with a vision to enhance their community and provide a safe, professional facility for local people in need of a residential care facility for 64 individuals.
Job Summary
To design and resource an ongoing activities package for Elderholme residents and co-ordinate the programme and in addition organise the provision of outside entertainment.
Main Responsibilities
To design and resource an activities package based on a needs/preference analysis of the service user
To ensure that the activities programme is age-specific and regularly reviewed in accordance with the service users wishes.
To deliver and co-ordinate an organised weekly activities programme.
On-going tasks will include resourcing of materials, budgeting allocated funds, bringing in entertainers, writing up monthly planners for activities and writing up evaluations of activities on SU care plans in order to review resident's progress and response. (In accordance with Care Standards as outlined by the Inspectorate).
To provide a programme that is relevant to the diversity of needs within the home at any given time.
To value such diversity and promote equality of opportunity, ensuring that individuals are treated fairly and respected for their contribution regardless of their level of skill or attainment.
To open up and maintain an on-going dialogue with nursing staff, carers and residents.
To encourage involvement amongst staff as well as residents, as activities will provide an opportunity for quality time to be shared, beneficial to each party.
To liase on a regular basis with management in order to pass on relevant information or look for advice/support.
To work in partnership with care staff and management, in order to achieve a well-functioning programme promoting regular communication and openness from the service user to the management.
