Overview
We are looking for a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Teaching Assistant to join a specialist PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) school in Oldham, supporting pupils aged 11-16 years old. This role is ideal for someone with a caring nature who is confident supporting both personal care and classroom learning. In this position, you will split your workload between assisting pupils with their personal care routines and helping them to access learning in the classroom. You must be comfortable administering personal care to all pupils, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene support.
Responsibilities
* Support pupils aged 11-16 with profound and multiple learning difficulties.
* Provide personal care, ensuring dignity, comfort, and safety at all times.
* Encourage independence and engagement in both personal and learning activities.
* Assist in delivering tailored education programmes under the guidance of the class teacher.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff.
* Experience working with children or young people with complex needs (desirable).
* Confidence and commitment in providing personal care to young people.
* A nurturing and patient approach, with resilience to meet challenges positively.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
