Pay rate: £33.30 per hour
Are you an experienced and passionate Qualified Social Worker looking for career progression? We are seeking an experienced social worker to join a Permanence Team. This is an exciting opportunity as the local authority in the West Midlands celebrates its GOOD Ofsted status.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record, excellent report writing skills, and experience in court work, planning for permanency, and writing CPRs and Annex A. A strong background in parenting assessments, viability assessments, and producing robust evidence is essential. Excellent risk assessment and outstanding written communication skills are also required.
We offer regular supervision, including monthly group reflective sessions.
As part of this dedicated team, you will work in a busy, supportive environment assessing and working with children and families, intervening where necessary to provide early support. Your assessment work will involve direct engagement with children and families, partnering with agencies such as police and health services to achieve positive, sustainable outcomes. The service maintains strong links with integrated prevention and early help teams to promote community support when social care intervention is no longer needed.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, you will support the delivery of person-centered, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about appropriate interventions, establishing and maintaining relationships with service users and agencies to meet their needs.

Ideal candidate will be:
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
* Experienced in working with children and families, including vulnerable groups.
* Creative, flexible, and forward-thinking.
* Knowledgeable of Child Protection legislation and issues.
* Dedicated to continuous improvement for better outcomes.
* Skilled in mediation and negotiation.
* Excellent at building relationships with children and families.
* Committed to high-quality service delivery.
* Experienced in multi-disciplinary, interagency work.
* 4+ years qualified.
In this role, you will:
* Assess risks, protection, and social care needs.
* Manage a case load.
* Use specialist communication skills for optimal outcomes.
* Create individual care plans promoting dignity and empowerment.
* Support and advise less experienced staff and students.
