Housing Repairs Service Trades Apprenticeship
Sheffield City Council’s Housing Repairs Service carries out repairs and maintenance to over 50,000 Council homes.
This year, we are offering an amazing 12 Apprenticeship opportunities to launch your career in the Trades services with a September 2026 start.
The 12 Apprenticeship opportunities are available across three different Trades: Joiners, Plasterers and Painters.
As an Apprentice, you will:
1. Receive a great rate of pay whilst you learn
2. Be fully funded to complete a recognised qualification
3. Receive one day off the job per week for study leave at college (during term time)
4. Receive hands-on/practical experience in an experienced team environment
5. Have a great peer support network
6. Have the potential to secure a permanent job with us upon successful completion of your Apprenticeship.
Please clearly state on your application which Trade/Apprenticeship, from the three named above, you wish to undertake.
Qualifications:
For all Plasterers / Joiners / Painters we are looking for (or working towards) a Grade 4 / Standard Pass (in English and Maths).
