HCPC registered and practicing as a Registered Biomedical Scientist, assisting Senior BMSs, and Lead BMS. Leading in day to day management and directing established workflow practices in individual laboratory sections to ensure an efficient effective and comprehensive service in the Cellular Pathology dept. Overseeing BMS band 5s, Associate Practitioners (AP) and MLAs, Ensuring the laboratory produces output that fulfil the criteria required by UKAS ISO 15189:2022, ensuring all work is Quality controlled to the correct standards before leaving the laboratory. To ensure all quality issues are resolved and recorded escalating as appropriate. To assist in the training of staff and ensure all laboratory staff are trained and competent to a level appropriate for their role. This entails production of histological stained sections of surgical and post mortem tissues, which the consultant pathologist uses in diagnosis.
