Role Information
Our Construction Academies division comprises 2 Academies in the North East (Middlesbrough & Sunderland). We specialise in Bricklaying, Plastering, Carpentry & Joinery, and Painting & Decorating, with additional Multi Skill qualifications. Provision ranges from Short & Long Courses to Apprenticeships and Study Programmes, where learners gain experience in a working workshop.
Our assessors & tutors support apprentices through every stage of their journey, delivering an outstanding experience and helping clients see a clear return on their investment.
Duties
* Carry out learner inductions and associated processes
* Deliver a timetable of learning as agreed with the Academy Manager
* Undertake qualification delivery and planning with team members and the Academy Manager to meet LCG and external expectations
* Ensure ILPs are completed appropriate to individual learner requirements, including smart target setting and planned review points
* Complete required registers and documentation to contract standards and communicate deadlines to colleagues
* Monitor attendance and performance and report to management
* Provide support systems to facilitate positive retention, achievement and progression
* Timely completion of assessment and documentation to meet Awarding Body, funding Body and organisational requirements
* Submit portfolios in a timely manner for interim and summative verification
* Contribute to learner disciplinary action where appropriate
* Maintain a log of equipment used by learners and prevent loss through theft
* Attend standardisation and team meetings at designated centres
* Undertake internal moderation activities as required
* Promote safe working practices in line with Health and Safety legislation; participate in inspections and risk assessments
* Engage in CPD and maintain records
* Keep work area clean and safe for staff and learners
* Deliver weekend courses on a rotation basis and share with other team members if required
* Provide learners, customers and colleagues with support, advice and guidance as part of your everyday role

Essential Criteria
* Qualified up to Level 3 in Joinery
* Relevant Teaching & Assessing Qualifications
* Understanding of the Education and Training Industry
