Consultant Obstetrics and Gynaecology with Urogynae Interest

The post is based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn with provision of out‑reach clinics. Candidates with experience in general obstetrics and gynaecology are welcomed to join the team and complement the existing service provision in general gynaecology and obstetrics. Competence in gynaecological scanning and experience running post‑menopausal two‑week wait gynaecology clinics would be a good basis for this post.
A range of general and specialist obstetrics and gynaecology services are offered, including urogynaecology, gynae‑oncology, ambulatory (out‑patient) gynaecology, early pregnancy assessment, colposcopy, high‑risk obstetrics and intrapartum care.
The appointed consultant will contribute to service improvement programmes, the Maternity Culture Transformation and elective restoration pathway by implementing evidence‑based new ways of working.
Main duties of the job
Provide dedicated emergency cover for the Delivery Suite (labour ward) and emergency gynaecology, participate in on‑call rota overnight and weekends (currently 1:10 rota, subject to change). Participate in day‑to‑day supervision, training and assessment of junior staff. Manage in‑patients and out‑patients at the hospital, community antenatal hubs and out‑patients at the North Cambridgeshire Hospital, Wisbech.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Medical degree with Full GMC Registration and license to practice
* MRCOG and appropriate specialist registration
* Relevant CCT or CESR and be on specialist register (confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)/ within 6 months of CCT
* SITM/ATSM in urogynaecology or equivalent experience
* SITM/ATSM in Acute gynae & early pregnancy/intermediate level of gynaecological scanning / Hysteroscopy/benign gynae surgery/ equivalent experience
* MD, PhD or evidence of equivalent training and experience
