University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for this role. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill or salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role; however, UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa. You must also have at least six months until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.

An exciting development opportunity has arisen for a band 2 Administration Support Assistant to be based at our Royal Stoke site. The successful candidate will work closely with the Clinic Administration teams to ensure outpatient clinics are fully utilised and patients are allocated an outpatient appointment within NHS national targets. They may also assist with any incoming calls to the Appointments Call Centre.


Key Responsibilities

* Organise own workload, coordinate and adjust ongoing clinic appointments.
* Work closely with the Outpatient department to develop knowledge of specialties and promote effective communication.
* Take instruction from the Clinic Administrator to deliver an effective and efficient booking service.
* Communicate tactfully with patients, reception staff, and other healthcare professionals regarding appointments and queries.
* Ensure all available capacity is fully utilised and communicate slot issues to system administrators.
* Update system administrators on any work allocated daily and provide feedback on appointment queries.
* Assist with general internal calls, external patient calls and patient relative enquiries.

* Self‑motivated with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
* Strong team building skills and awareness of Trust policies and procedures.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Attention to detail and the ability to handle routine administrative tasks with tact.
