Community Education Officer – Mid & West Wales Fire and Rescue Service
Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is seeking applications from individuals for the role of a permanent Community Education Officer within the Community Safety Department based at Aberystwyth Hub, Northern Division. Please note there is significant travel and lone working to visit educational establishments mainly across Ceredigion, but to include schools in Powys when required.
The Role This role involves engaging with educators and learners to provide safety education. This will entail visiting educational establishments to deliver engaging and informative fire safety sessions primarily through the medium of Welsh, but also in English when required.
This is a Welsh Essential role requiring the post holder to speak Welsh naturally and conversationally. The role involves delivering information through the medium of Welsh in Welsh medium schools.
A confident and engaging communicator is required who is able to adapt to the needs of the audience is essential for this role.
This is a full-time post working 37 hours per week with flexible hours in line with the Service’s flexi-time scheme.
