Our hydraulic trade counters carry a comprehensive stock of fluid power products, providing an instant over‑the‑counter response, with 70,000+ products available for next‑day delivery. Each counter is equipped with dedicated production facilities to manufacture one‑off or high‑volume hydraulic hose assemblies, including optional testing, labeling, bagging, or kit assembly.
A day in the life of a Branch Assistant
Our Branch Assistant works closely with the Branch Manager and handles day‑to‑day depot operations. Duties involve serving new and existing customers from the trade counter, delivering excellent service, and driving sales. You’ll use our computer system to locate stock, process orders, and provide accurate quotations.
Responsibilities
* Assist with customer enquiries face‑to‑face, by phone, or email.
* Process sales orders and quotations.
* Identify, source, and select components for projects.
* Support depot stock control, re‑ordering, and stock‑taking.
* Operate the hydraulic trade counter on a day‑to‑day basis.
* Promote products and services.
* Provide prompt, friendly customer service and produce quotes/sales orders in a timely manner.
* Complete general administration duties, including goods in/ goods out.
* Maintain branch hygiene and H&S standards, and assist senior staff as required.
* Coordinate a small number of mobile breakdown vans directly from the branch.
Qualifications
You will need a hands‑on, customer‑focused approach, confidence in serving customers on a busy trade counter, and a proactive attitude toward engaging potential clients. Prior experience in a similar customer‑facing role, possibly in another industry, is required. Enthusiasm, eagerness to learn, teamwork, reliability, honesty, and an ability to work independently are essential. Previous knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic components is an advantage. A driving licence is essential, as occasional deliveries may be required.
