We are an integral part of Crane NXT, a c$2-billion-dollar business with over 5,000 associates As part of our growth, we are looking for a Junior Accountant in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear where you will be part of a dynamic Finance team fighting fraud and piracy! The Junior Accountant manages account preparation and reporting; handles cash management including maintenance of sterling and foreign currency cash books; manages bank reconciliations, petty cash records and expense process. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Monthly Reporting • Prepares and inputs monthly journals, accruals, and prepayments. • Coordinates the monthly close of sales and purchase ledgers. • Conducts reconciliation of sales ledger, purchase ledger and cash books to nominal ledger. • Performs monthly revaluations. • Prepares and confirms monthly intercompany reconciliations. • Handles the maintenance of fixed asset register and depreciation calculation. • Prepares monthly management accounts. Cash Management • Maintains sterling and foreign currency cash books. • Oversees the maintenance of petty cash & petty cash records. • Inputs cash postings to accounting system and reconciles with cash books. Expenses • Ensures expenses are submitted and approved by employees in a timely fashion. • Sets up new accounts on Concur and provide training where appropriate. • Provides a summary of expenses to the Finance Director. • Raises payments for expenses reimbursement. Costings/Quotes • Reviews quotes received from the Customer Care team for accuracy and consistency. Other • Assists with short term car hire requests. • Cross-trains in the duties performed by other team members to enable adequate cover to be provided at all times of holiday/absence ROLE REQUIREMENTS : • 1 – 2 years of experience working within a finance team. • Experience using an ERP/MRP system is preferable. • Experience using Concur is preferable GOOD TO HAVE : • Must demonstrate the highest level of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality always. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills. • Excellent I.T.
