Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time 37 Hours per Week

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Building Control team.
We welcome applications from someone who can demonstrate their knowledge of the Building Regulations and has previous experience in plan checking applications and carrying out site inspections to ensure compliance is met.
Applicants should possess an HNC/HND in Construction or other equivalent and LABC Competency Level 4.
This post requires registration with the Building Safety Regulator at minimum Class 1 (costs which are covered by the service).
The team is dedicated and experienced and hold all levels of BSR registration, we sit within Planning Services in the Place Directorate and training and supervision will be given to support you and develop through your class of BSR registration.
The team operates in a paperless environment with applications held on a recording system with plans and documents being viewed using an electronic document management system (EDM).
This post operates under a Career Grade/Grading Assessment Scheme, with starting salary and progression through the grades being linked to experience, qualifications and level of work being undertaken. Applicants possessing higher qualifications and experience will be considered for appointment as a Grade 9 Senior Building Control Surveyor (£39,890 to £44,096).
