This role involves high standards of post mortem care, supporting clinicians and professionals, and ensuring compliance with HTA regulations and CQC standards. The post holder will participate in cross-site attendance at hospitals, and after training and competency achievement, will join the out-of-hours on-call rota for the mortuary service.
Essential service requirements include flexibility, good communication, and IT skills for record keeping and documentation, ensuring full traceability at all times.
Applicants should be committed, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a challenging, sometimes emotive environment. The role is for a qualified APT with autopsy and stock management experience.
A second practical interview will be held for suitable candidates, with the date to be confirmed.
Main duties of the job
The role involves participating in routine mortuary and bereavement services at Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone Hospitals, conducting processes efficiently and in line with approved practices, procedures, and health and safety legislation. Regular personal development and sharing best practices within the team are expected.

Qualifications
* RSPH Level 3 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology
* Level 4 Diploma or Pre-2015 RSPH/RIPHH certificate in Anatomical Pathology Technology
* CPD evidence within the last 12 months
* Professional registration (e.g., AHCS, Science Council)
* Membership with AAPT
* IT training certificate
Experience and Knowledge
* Qualified APT with experience in a post mortem active mortuary
* Experience with Quality Management systems and record keeping
* Experience with QPulse or similar QMS
* Experience in training environments
* Experience creating rosters and delegating tasks
