<div><h3>Walsall Council, Harmful Sexual Behaviour Practitioner (Fixed Term for 12 months) – Ref: CH01826</h3><p><b>Grade G7</b>; <b>Salary Range: £35,412 – £38,220</b></p><h3>About The Role</h3><p>As a Harmful Sexual Behaviour practitioner within the service, you will use tools such as AIM3 assessments to support in understanding children and young people’s presenting needs and sexually harmful behaviours, facilitating the identification of appropriate help, support and therapeutically informed interventions. You will deliver individually tailored therapeutically informed interventions utilizing best practice models and tools such as Toni Cavannagh‑Johnson “Understanding Children’s Sexual Behaviours – what’s natural and Healthy chart” and Hackett’s “Continuum of behaviour” model, exploring areas such as sexual behaviours, knowledge of physical, emotional, social and sexual boundaries, healthy sexual relationships, consent, emotional regulation, self‑esteem, empathy building and safer choices. You will provide advice, consultation and support to families, carers and professionals in relation to harmful sexual behaviour and work alongside social workers, family support workers and multi‑agency partners to develop and implement risk management and safety plans. You will support parents and carers to understand harmful sexual behaviours and guide healthy relationships and safety planning through the Weddell Family Programme, and contribute to service development and partnership learning by delivering training across the partnership.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Use AIM3 assessments to evaluate children and young people’s needs and sexual behaviours.</li><li>Design and deliver individually tailored therapeutic interventions using evidence‑based models.</li><li>Provide advice, consultation and support to families, carers and professionals.</li><li>Collaborate with social workers, family support workers and multi‑agency partners on risk management and safety plans.</li><li>Support parents and carers in safety planning through the Weddell Family Programme.</li><li>Contribute to service development and deliver training on Harmful Sexual Behaviour across the partnership.</li></ul><h3>About You</h3><p>Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with active listening. Ability to be creative, flexible and adaptable in engaging children, young people and their families. Substantial experience working with children, young people and families, assessing needs and delivering tailored interventions. Preferable a good understanding of healthy, problematic and harmful sexual behaviours and best practice guidance. Professional reflective, sensitive to emotive topics, and utilising reflective and clinical supervision. Safeguarding: Completion of an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is required, and applicants must provide an Overseas Criminal Records Certificate or Statement of Good Conduct if they have lived or worked abroad.
