Position Summary
We are recruiting Senior Social Workers for the Child Protection & Court Teams. The role is based in a locality model, focuses on evidence‑based interventions, and strengthens partnership working with families in local communities. Salary is £45,339 – £50,726 per annum with a relocation allowance of up to £6,500 and retention bonus up to £10,000 over three years.
Key Responsibilities
* Work alongside the Assessment & Intervention Teams within the same locality and respond swiftly when a child’s needs are acute and risks are high.
* Work in an organised and planned way to meet timescales set by the Trust and the Court.
* Produce reports for Court, write court statements, care plans and assessments in a succinct manner, demonstrating highly attuned skills in gathering, assessing and analysing key information to make evidence‑based recommendations.
* Represent the Trust by giving evidence in Court.
About you
* Recognised professional Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
* Completed the ASYE programme.
* At least two years of post‑qualifying experience as a social worker in a Children & Families setting.
* Experience working in children and families settings.
* Strong knowledge of minimum standards and the ability to promote change in family life.
* Ability to analyse information and make informed decisions.
* Good knowledge of child development.
* Experience with S47 child protection investigations or S17 child in‑need single assessments.
* Ability to develop effective relationships with children and their families to identify needs and help develop plans toward change.
* Commitment to ensuring the child’s voice is at the centre of work and use a range of direct work tools to evidence the child’s voice in assessments and plans.
