As a founder with a design background, I’ve led our design efforts, managed our design team and got stuck in with design. But as we grow, I need a partner who can take the lead on designs so I can focus on scaling the business. I’m looking for a designer who wants to move beyond "interface design" and help us build the systems that power million-user platforms.
What we do
At Plume, design is central to every stage of our client partnerships.
We make a massive impact early on through our Blueprint discovery framework, where we turn a client's business model into a validated, high-fidelity learning platform prototype. Once that foundation is built, we continue that impact through iterative updates—working closely with our developers to refine features based on real-world usage and new client requirements.
You will be responsible for
* The Foundation: Leading discovery workshops and turning raw business goals into structured UX flows, wireframes, and premium prototypes.
* The Evolution: Taking ownership of products post-launch, using client feedback and data to iterate on features and improve the platform over time.
* The Ecosystem: Ensuring a seamless, bespoke experience across every touchpoint—from the marketing site to the deepest corners of the learning admin dashboard.
* The Standard: Building and maintaining robust, scalable design systems in Figma that allow us to move fast without losing quality.
The work is high-stakes and highly varied. One day you’ll be designing a multi-tenant system for B2B seat management; the next, you’ll be crafting a high-converting marketing site or a gamified mobile app that 3xs learner engagement. Our clients come to us because they need bespoke learning tech that works exactly the way their business does.
What I'm looking for
* The "Double Threat": You are genuinely competent with 5+ years of professional experience at both UX architecture (the logic) and high-end UI execution (the polish).
* A Product Mindset: You enjoy the "blank canvas" of a new project, but you also take pride in the discipline of refining a live product to help a client hit their KPIs.
* Autonomous & Organized: You use Figma properly (auto-layout, components, clean files) and understand that a design is only as good as the hand-off to the dev team.
* A Thought Partner: You’ll report directly to the founder. I’m looking for someone who will challenge my ideas and suggest better ways to solve problems for our clients.
* Bristol-based: We spend 3 days a week in our Bristol studio. In-person collaboration is a huge part of how we solve the complex problems our clients bring us.
