About the Business
An opportunity to become a Financial Controller for an international manufacturing company based in Kidderminster. This is a hands-on role that will give you experience within a growing, innovative UK-leading business that values quality and sustainability.
Main Duties:
As a Financial Controller, your main duties include:
* Provide strategic and operational support to the Finance Director.
* Play a central role in major finance initiatives, including business acquisitions and integrations.
* Oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, payments, and payroll processing.
* Manage and develop a multidisciplinary finance team, covering Credit Control, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Management Accounting.
* Lead, coach, and inspire team members to achieve high performance and professional growth.
* Partner with senior executives and actively contribute to key financial and strategic decisions.
* Drive efficiency by implementing process improvements and upgrading financial systems.
* Produce accurate, insightful monthly management accounts across multiple business units.
* Lead the preparation of statutory year-end accounts and coordinate external audits.
* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management in partnership with senior leadership.
* Manage VAT returns, KPI reporting, variance analysis, and other ad hoc financial reports.
* Provide ongoing support to the Group Finance Director and act as deputy during periods of absence.
Location / Office / Culture
This is a well-established, growing business based in Kidderminster, offering a collaborative and supportive culture. The role is hybrid, typically with three days a week in the welcoming office. You will have a team of your own to manage and support the Finance Director.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with a minimum of five years’ experience in management accounting.
* Demonstrated expertise in group-level financial reporting, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment.
* Highly proficient in Excel and financial software; familiarity with Microsoft Business Central is advantageous.
* A proactive and confident leader with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Focused on driving continuous improvement and meeting deadlines.
