Overview
The Commercial Industries and Access School at Kingston College is seeking a dynamic and inspiring Vocational Skills Assessor to assess learners on a variety of programmes across the School, including Level 1, 2 and Level 3 in Barbering. You will undertake assessments in the College salons and other practical areas including online testing, providing prompt and constructive feedback to candidates, and ensuring a professional image at all times. You will support teaching teams and learners to work professionally and help develop and achieve commercial, employability, enterprise and workskills, while helping to maintain a strong client base in the Commercial salons and contributing to income targets.
Responsibilities
* Undertake assessments in College salons and other practical areas, including online testing.
* Provide prompt, constructive feedback to candidates after each assessment.
* Ensure a professional image is portrayed at all times.
* Support teaching teams and learners to work professionally and to develop and achieve commercial, employability, enterprise and workskills.
* Maintain a strong client base in the Commercial salons and contribute to meeting income targets.
Qualifications
* Professional qualifications with a recognised awarding body or recognised TDLB Assessor Awards (D32, D33) or TDLB new A1 Award for Assessors, or willing to work towards.
* Established recent experience within the Barbering industry, either through a professional development file (CPD) or recent salon experience as a commercial master barber.
* NVQ 2 and 3 in Barbering; ideally hold an IV Award and Health and Safety qualifications for work-based visits.
* Excellent communication skills with good IT skills or willingness to gain them.
