Overview
Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in East Sussex. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the wide variety of needs we support. Our mission is to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN/SEND, as well as SEMH needs. We support children and young people with MLD and SLD. We are looking for SEN / SEND tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners in East Sussex.
At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. We keep the team around the child, and you will be supported throughout every placement by our team of SEN / SEND Support Specialists. This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND teachers who want to work 1:1 with children and young people with a variety of learning needs in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.

The SEN / SEND Tutor role
* This role involves providing Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision
* You will work with young people referred by local authorities and schools and provide support in their educational and social-emotional journey
* Your role includes flexible and holistic trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Planning each session of teaching/tutoring/mentoring
* Providing holistic and engaging sessions aligned to each young person’s needs
* Completing lesson reports and providing progress feedback
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS)
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or other Additional Educational Needs
* Knowledge of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* UK-based with the right to work in the UK, including for remote/online assignments
It is a strict requirement to promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children and young people and follow safeguarding policies at all times.
SEN / SEND Tutor Employment Status
* This position involves working as a Worker on short-term engagements as they arise
* Work through a contract-for-service and will be paid via PAYE
* No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position
