We are seeking a Quality in Design & Test Support Supervisor to oversee quality assurance processes within a busy product design and test laboratory environment. This role ensures that products, processes, and testing meet the highest quality standards while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
* Team Supervision: Lead and manage test support staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
* Quality Control: Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to relevant quality standards, safety requirements, and regulatory directives.
* Laboratory Operations: Manage day-to-day operations, oversee equipment maintenance, and ensure a safe working environment.
* Testing & Analysis: Oversee product and process testing, agree test specifications with engineering and production staff, analyse results, and drive improvements.
* Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records, generate reports, and present findings clearly to stakeholders.
* Problem Solving: Investigate non-conformances, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and overall quality.
* Collaboration: Work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure quality objectives are met.
Required Skills & Competencies
* Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of laboratory techniques, quality control systems, and regulatory standards (ISO, CE, UKCA, UL, EMC, etc.).
* Leadership: Proven supervisory experience with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
* Analytical Skills: Skilled in data analysis, problem-solving, and implementing corrective actions.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical data effectively.
* Organizational Skills: Strong time management and prioritization abilities.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Ability to interpret and apply international quality and safety standards.
Education & Experience
* HNC/HND or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field (preferred).
* Previous supervisory experience in a testing or quality assurance environment.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Smartsheets).
* Familiarity with CAD tools and PDM systems (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Siemens Teamcenter, ARAS) is desirable.
