JOB TITLE: Head of Security Data and AI
SALARY: From £125,000 dependent on experience and location
LOCATION(S): This position is based in Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol or London, and will involve periodic travel between these locations.
HOURS: Full-time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week currently, or 40% of our time, at our office location.
About this opportunity
As the Head of Security Data and AI Lab, you will lead a multidisciplinary team within the Chief Security Office (CSO), driving the transformation of security data and AI capabilities at Lloyds Banking Group. You will be responsible for shaping and executing our security data and AI strategy, ensuring the lab delivers intelligent, AI-driven defence solutions that predict, prevent, and protect at pace and scale.
Your responsibilities include:
1. Strategic Leadership: Lead and motivate the Security Data and AI Services Lab, focusing on high-value outcomes for customers and partners. Champion the adoption of pioneering data security and AI practices, ensuring the lab remains at the forefront of innovation.
2. Team Development: Build and maintain a high-performing, diverse team with expertise in data engineering, AI, compliance and focus on customer needs when it comes to data. Make data available to solve security challenges across the CSO Org. Foster a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and safe adoption of AI, with a strong emphasis on upskilling (e.g., Google Cloud Platform, Bindplane, AI governance and ethics).
3. Operational Excellence: Ensure robust, agile, and reliable delivery of secure data and AI services 24x7. Oversee the migration and decommissioning of legacy technologies (e.g., Splunk, Jenkins, TIG), and drive adoption of modern platforms (e.g., Bindplane, Google Security Operations, VertexAI, Kubeflow, BigQuery, Harness).
4. Risk Management: Collaborate with senior engineers, CSO, and business leaders to manage risks related to security data and AI, ensuring alignment with strategy and industry standards.
5. Innovation & Collaboration: Set a collaborative, innovative culture within the lab, promoting ownership, proactive problem-solving, and safe acceleration of AI use cases (including Agentic AI).
6. Performance & Impact: Be accountable for important measures such as cost efficiency, strategic contributions, customer happiness, and the simplification of security data and AI processes.
