Social Worker - Adult Safeguarding
An exciting opportunity has become available to work within the Adult Safeguarding Service in the Adult Safeguarding Provider Team. This positions are for two FTE (37 hours) per week posts Monday - Friday working pattern.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As an organisation, our purpose is to fulfil the Local Authority’s statutory duties under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014, focusing on safeguarding adults at risk where concerns involve a paid care provider. The role ensures proportionate and timely triage of Safeguarding referrals, collaborative working with providers and agencies, undertaking Organisational Safeguarding procedures and oversight of care quality concerns across Cheshire East.
You will triage and coordinate safeguarding referrals involving care providers, completing initial s.42(1) checks and determining statutory duty. You will apply decision-making where s.42 criteria are met, setting clear terms of reference and coordinating responses.
You will apply Making Safeguarding Personal principles, ensuring adults are involved in decisions about their safety and support as well as supporting and advising care providers through the Care Concerns and Safeguarding process, escalating issues where necessary.
You will coordinate and contribute to Organisational Safeguarding procedures for providers where systemic risks are identified. This will include working collaboratively with health professionals, community teams, and regulatory bodies to ensure robust safeguarding responses.

A full enhanced DBS check will be required.
ABOUT YOU
You will have:
1. Experience of working in a statutory Social Work Service.
2. Knowledge and a good understanding of Safeguarding and relevant legislation including The Care Act and The Mental Capacity Act.
3. Experience in completing Safeguarding enquiries and complex decision-making.
4. Skills to work alongside individuals and their families, effectively with providers and partner agencies
5. Good communication and decision-making skills.
