EQUANS are looking for a Resident Electrician to join our team in Salford for our Media City contract. This role is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, with a competitive salary and benefits package.
EQUANS are recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join our existing team on the Media City Contract. This is a permanent full-time role working Monday to Friday.
The engineer’s primary role is all-round engineering support, maintaining the building infrastructure, with a detailed understanding of current Building Services systems and contingency procedures within the buildings and compliance with Health & Safety/building codes of practice. The engineer acts as a coordination point for day-to-day activities on site between themselves and the FM management team.
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all activities allocated to their shift are undertaken with professionalism and a conscientious outlook regarding the quality of work and Health & Safety, maintaining the 100% uptime criteria. They should ensure excellent standards of response to plant failures, completion of assigned work, and handling abnormal operating conditions and housekeeping issues proficiently.
The individual should have a very good track record and be capable of running the operation while on duty, including during night shifts and management of subcontractors. Difficulties encountered on engineering activities should be reported to the Engineering Supervisor/Manager. All record-keeping functions should be completed daily, with an understanding of escalation procedures. Be part of out-of-hours call-out and overtime for on-site works and site cover. Read, write and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements; carry out Point of Work risk assessments. Subcontractor management. All PPE, uniform, tools and specialised tools will be supplied by EQUANS. Working hours are Continental shift-based, 12 hours on site, 1 hour lunch, 4 days and 4 nights shifts.
Principal Objectives:
* Carry out PPM tasks and record and complete relative documents
* Carry out reactive callouts on critical systems
* Complete compliance testing and minor works to JSP375 standard
* Minor installation works and testing
* Clear communication of the company vision and objectives ensuring the implementation of new procedures
* Promote and drive the company values
* Keep up to date with industry developments, driving innovation and effective change
Impact: This role will be client-facing; the candidate will need good experience and excellent communication skills to ensure all operational and contractual obligations are adhered to and risks are mitigated for EQUANS.
Complexity: We are looking for a confident, experienced, driven individual with a strong background, good planning and organisational skills.
Qualifications or Required Experience:
* City and Guilds training
* Strong communication skills
* Good experience of electrical maintenance and repairs
* Previous AP/AE experience and qualifications preferred but not essential
