We are recruiting for an experienced QA Tester to join a long established technology team working on a complex, high traffic ecommerce platform.
This position is suited to someone who is hands on, commercially aware, and comfortable working closely with developers to ensure quality across an integrated system.
The Role
You will be responsible for manual testing across a sophisticated ecommerce environment, including:
1. Web platforms
2. Payment processing
3. CRM and CMS systems
4. Reporting systems
5. UI and end user journeys
This role is primarily manual testing focused. Automation is present within the wider team but is not the core requirement for this hire.
You will not be sitting in isolation executing scripts. You will be:
6. Coordinating directly with developers
7. Following up on defects and builds
8. Managing test cases and defect workflows
9. Taking increasing ownership of quality processes
This would suit someone who has several years of experience and has started to take on more responsibility, possibly moving towards a test lead level, but still enjoys being hands on.
What We Are Looking For
10. 5 plus years testing online software applications
11. Strong experience testing ecommerce or complex integrated systems
12. Solid manual testing capability across UI and end to end user journeys
13. Experience using Jira and TestRail or similar tools
14. Comfortable replicating real world environments using tools such as BrowserStack
15. Confident communicating with developers and managing defect discussions
16. Someone commercially aware and pragmatic
Automation exposure is beneficial but not essential.
Salary
The expected range is around £50,000. There may be flexibility for particularly strong profiles. The package aligns with the wider IT team structure.
