A building services design team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their London office. Ideal candidates will have strong experience in mechanical building services design and be Chartered or working towards Chartership.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to mechanical design strategy and carry out design calculations.
* Produce drawings, schematics, specifications, and schedules.
* Ensure designs meet relevant standards, regulations, and energy‑efficiency requirements.
* Lead M&E project delivery, including coordination and attending meetings.
* Review work of junior engineers and support their development.
* Build strong relationships with clients and design teams.
* Provide multidisciplinary input and support sustainability goals.
Skills & Experience
* Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and building systems.
* Good communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.
* Ability to explain design decisions clearly.
* Experience with software such as Hevacomp/IES, Barbour Index, Microsoft Office.
* Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical/Building Services/Architectural Engineering.
* Project management experience in a similar role.
Desirable:
* CAD or modelling software experience (e.g., AutoCAD, IES).
* Knowledge of low‑carbon design, renewable technologies, BREEAM, or similar.

* Proactive, collaborative, and able to take initiative.
* Interest in sustainability, new technologies, or building design.
