Overview
We are seeking a creative, highly skilled Graphic Designer to join the West Buckland team and support the visual communication needs of the school. This 52-week role will play a key part in enhancing the school's identity and visibility through a wide range of print and digital media. In addition to design work, the role includes support for marketing activities such as content creation, event promotion, event support, and social media campaigns.
This is a dynamic and varied position that requires a proactive, can-do attitude, a strong eye for detail, and a passion for education and creativity.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design engaging and professional visual content for digital and print use, including - Brochures, flyers, posters, newsletters, signage, presentations, and yearbooks - Social media graphics and web assets
* Maintain and develop brand consistency across all communications
* Collaborate with staff on internal and external communications needs
* Supporting the school's core enterprise work.
* Support the school's marketing efforts, including: - Assisting with website content updates and design - Creating of marketing materials for school events, open days, and recruitment - Contributing creative ideas to marketing campaigns - Supporting events in and out of normal school hours, as and when required
* Capture and edit photographs
* Manage and organise digital assets and templates for staff use
* Liaise with external suppliers (e.g. printers) when required
Required Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in a graphic design role (education sector experience an advantage)
* Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop essential)
* Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects
* Understanding of design for both digital and print media
* Excellent attention to detail, layout, typography and good literacy skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Desirable Skills:
* Video editing and production skills (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro or similar)
* Basic photography skills
* Experience with content creation for social media
* Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress or school-specific systems)

Hours of Work
This is a full-time appointment working year-round. The incumbent is expected to be flexible in his or her attitude to hours of work and will be expected to manage working hours in line with the needs of the school.
