Overview
Band 3 Therapy Assistant – Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The post holder will join the Trauma Orthopaedics / Major Trauma team at Hull Royal Infirmary to support the assessment and rehabilitation of patients referred for acute/complex rehabilitation following accidents or injuries, including Major Trauma. As a Therapy Assistant you will have direct input in the treatment of patients in acute care, delivering evidence‑based interventions to facilitate recovery, promote well‑being and optimise independent functioning in all areas of life.
We are looking for individuals who can adapt to a changing environment and work well in a team. You will be expected to be an active member of the therapy and multi‑disciplinary teams and to treat patients and colleagues with compassion, kindness and respect.
There may be a requirement to work at any site and within any clinical area within the Trust to complement our Therapy Service with Trauma Orthopaedics / Major Trauma.
The post holder will be required to work 37.5 hours Monday to Friday to support the progression of patients’ rehab, in addition to contributing to a 1:5 weekend rota.
Responsibilities
* Provide support to Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in carrying out delegated duties.
* Deliver evidence‑based interventions in acute care to facilitate recovery and independent functioning.
* Assist in undertaking clerical and administrative duties directly related to patient care, including mobility aids and clinical supplies.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent (desirable).
* Enthusiastic and capable of working as part of a therapy team within Trauma Orthopaedics / Major Trauma.
Training and supervision
There is excellent in‑service training and supervision in all clinical areas.
