Come and join us on our journey of transformation as an Enterprise Architect within Santander Enterprise Services. You’ll work closely with other architecture teams, such as Functional, Technical, Data & Security Architecture and you will collaborate with Business and IT colleagues in Santander UK as well as Santander Global Architecture.
As an Enterprise Architect you’ll create domain specific sustainable architecture strategies aligned with Santander’s goal of helping people to prosper and realise maximum potential. We are passionate about radical simplification and building strong foundations, we think customer and embrace change. You’ll work closely with stakeholders throughout the organisation and will guide a portfolio of solutions within the local Santander Architecture landscape and governance framework.
You will be part of an Architecture Community that spans all functions and domains across the bank, we share knowledge and support one another to ensure the ongoing evolution of this important capability.
The successful candidate will have experience in several areas from the
following:
1. Central Services: All aspects of the Central Services: Recruitment, Workforce Management (Permanent & Contingent), Learning & Knowledge Management, Payroll, Expense Payments, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Legal & Audit, Procurement, Corporate Communications
2. Central Solutions: Peoplesoft, Workday, SAP Hana, SAP Concur, SAP Fieldglass, ServiceNow, MetricStream

3. Keeping accountability for the solution architecture and ratification of all architectural decisions proposed by the Business Architect and Solutions Architect
4. Maintaining architecture strategy within the specific domain
5. Ensuring all solutions align with enterprise, group and domain architecture strategies, documentation standards and that best practice is followed using approved components and including the relevant decommissioning
6. Identifying any inter-dependencies between various changes within the domain and/or wider
7. Providing guidance, including input into the goals and objectives of the Business Architect and Solutions Architect
8. Managing the caveats and actions for each change to ensure effective resolution in the agreed timeframe
What you’ll bring:
9. Comprehensive Domain Specific knowledge and domain driven design experience, with a working knowledge of the BIAN framework, TOGAF, ArchiMate and API & microservice architecture solutions
10. Proven experience in defining & maintaining complex Strategic and Transitional Architectures. Architectures need to consider
functional / technical / network / infrastructure / security aspects / cross domain dependencies in order to deliver sustainable and cost effective solutions to meet the domains goals & vision
11. The ability to communicate complex concepts, to challenge and influence a diverse set of stakeholders in order to ensure consistency of understanding and alignment of goals. To be a confident and practised communicator, with excellent stakeholder management skills, both within the organisation and externally
12. Experience of planning and organizing concepts, eg managing the Domain Solution Architects to review solution design for projects, understand the key architectural decisions and provide guidance and input ensuring consistency in deliverables methodology & governance processes. Managing caveats and resolving associated actions
13. Being flexible with a ‘can do’ attitude with a strong sense of initiative with the ability to learn fast - new concepts and skills - and deal calmly with situations under pressure
14. Be passionate about driving and leading change by creating practical, workable architectures aligned to the bank’s IT principles and following the bank’s governance processes
It would also be nice for you to have:
15. Experience of using Architecture tools e.g. Avolution Abacus
16. Have knowledge & experience of AWS & Cloud Architectures
17. Experience of defining & building APIs
18. Well-developed understanding of the Group's overall aims,
structures, and policies, together with a detailed understanding of the Group IT vision, strategy and culture
