Protocol Education is working with a vibrant and diverse inner-city primary school in Bristol to recruit a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from Term 6.
This is a brilliant opportunity to support children at such an important stage of their development, helping them grow in confidence, communication, and independence within a nurturing school environment.
You’ll be supporting pupils within Nursery and Reception, including children with additional needs, through a mixture of 1:1 and small group support. The role involves helping children engage with learning through play, supporting routines and transitions, and creating a calm, structured environment where every child feels safe and included.
Some pupils may require personal care and physical support, so being comfortable with this is important.
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting children within Nursery and Reception
* Providing 1:1 and small group SEND support
* Helping children access play-based learning activities
* Supporting emotional regulation, routines, and transitions
* Assisting with personal care and manual handling where needed
* Building positive relationships with staff, children, and families
We’re looking for someone who:
* Has experience working within EYFS
* Has experience supporting children with SEND, ideally within a school or nursery setting
* Brings energy, patience, and a proactive attitude
* Can create positive relationships and maintain clear boundaries
* Enjoys working as part of a supportive team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
