Reporting to the Head of Application Development, you will be responsible for building business systems that deliver real business value.From design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve, you will be working with business critical software platforms to ensure they are robust, scalable, and secure.Role Description:Work in a small, self-sufficient development team, sharing knowledge and guiding other developers and the wider technology team and usersWorking collaboratively across the organisation in embedding technology application capabilities and inputs into the day-to-day operations of the businessMaintain high performance and availability of all applications, databases and integration systemsWork with colleagues across the company to build systems that deliver business valueDevelop, test, deploy, maintain and improve business critical software platformsFind solutions to technical problems affecting users System administration, such as provisioning and managing cloud-based infrastructure, deploying changes, security monitoring, system maintenance, and managing internal and external network connectivityMaintenance and configuration of tools and products used in the software delivery lifecycle and monitoring, and configuration of the supported environments.Use tools to automate system administration tasks, such as deploying new releases or applying security patchesConfiguring and deploying Azure DevOps CI/CD toolsUse CI/CD to automate building, testing and deployment of softwareWork closely with the rest of the development team to ensure these tools are used effectivelyBuild and maintain a suite of tests that protect against regression issues and that can be executed with relatively low human effortProvide insight and direction in relation to adoption of appropriate technology and architecturesEmploy the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to the management of cloud infrastructure resources, such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS)Key skills & Experience required:A degree or higher-level qualification in Computing science or a related subjectExperience in security and data protection eg NCSC best practices and GDPRExperience in up to date programming principles such as SOLID, DRY and YAGNIExperience in developing software solutions using technologies such as .NET 6, C#, SQL Server and real-time communication frameworks, such as SignalRExperience developing web frontend applications, such as SPAs, using Angular 10+ in JavaScript/TypeScriptKnowledge and experience of DevOps, such as maintaining production systems, automation, deployments, backups, and 3rd line supportGit source control and branching strategiesAdministration of Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelinesExperience of querying and management of databases and storage, such as SQL databases and BLOB storageWe can only accept applications from candidates eligible to work in the UK.
