Management Accountant
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Location: Liverpool City Centre
Type: Permanent, Full-time, hybrid working
We're working with a well-established, operationally focused business based in Liverpool to recruit a Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a CIMA or ACCA finalist-level studier looking to step into a broad, hands-on role with real exposure to operational stakeholders.
The Role
Reporting into a Finance Manager, you'll take ownership of management accounting activities, with a strong focus on cost control, reporting, and partnering with non-finance teams.
Key responsibilities include:
* Producing monthly management accounts and detailed cost reports
* Reviewing costs, calculating accruals and prepayments, and preparing variance analysis with commentary
* Building strong working relationships with operational and technical teams
* Balance sheet reconciliations relating to operational accounts
* Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes alongside international finance teams
* Assisting with quarterly and annual reporting requirements
* Providing guidance and support to junior finance staff
* Authorising payment runs and handling ad-hoc finance tasks.
About You
You'll ideally bring:
* CIMA or ACCA finalist-level status
* Previous experience in a management accounting or operational finance role
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
* Confidence working with spreadsheets and finance systems (SAP experience beneficial)
* The ability to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
* A proactive, team-oriented approach
