Technical Finance Business Partner (Interim) Location: Derby (Hybrid - up to 3 days on-site) Duration: Up to 12 months Rate: Up to £651/day (Umbrella) or £473.63/day (PAYE) Start Date: Mid-May We are supporting a leading UK-based engineering organisation in the search for an experienced Technical Finance Business Partner to join their Civil Aerospace division on an interim basis. This is a high-impact role within a central Technical Finance team, focused on complex accounting issues, financial governance, and audit management. You'll work closely with senior finance stakeholders and external auditors, playing a key role in ensuring robust financial control and compliance across a large, global business unit.
Key Responsibilities Provide expert guidance on technical accounting matters in line with IFRS and internal finance policies Partner with operational and finance teams to support key accounting judgements and business decisions Lead and manage the external audit process, acting as the primary contact for auditors Prepare high-quality audit papers and present key issues to senior leadership and audit committees Drive financial risk management by challenging accounting treatments and ensuring reporting accuracy Lead quarterly balance sheet reviews and enforce corporate governance frameworks Provide financial assurance across investments, bids, and procurement activities Contribute to the Financial Control Leadership Team, driving alignment and best practice across teams What We're Looking For Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) Strong technical accounting expertise with solid IFRS knowledge Background in external audit (preferred) Experience working in large, complex organisations Strong understanding of FX and statutory accounting treatments Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders Proven ability to manage ambiguity and solve complex financial issues Able to distil complex topics into clear, concise insights
