Position Overview
Our client, a leading company in the defence and security sector, is seeking an Embedded Software Verification and Validation Engineer to join their Real-Time Embedded software department. This is a permanent position that offers a fantastic opportunity to work on some of the world's most sophisticated defence systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Taking requirements and developing them into robust test cases
* Preparing and executing tests, capturing data, and delivering actionable feedback
* Working closely with project teams to ensure system components meet stringent verification and validation standards
* Delivering verification and validation activities in an embedded software environment
* Engaging in practical problem-solving and data acquisition tasks
* Utilising scripting abilities to enhance testing procedures
Job Requirements
* Strong experience in Verification and Validation (V&V) activities for embedded software
* Embedded software development experience using Ada
* Proficiency in converting requirements into structured test cases and procedures
* Experience working in a lab environment on electromechanical products running embedded software
* Good working knowledge of the complete software engineering lifecycle
Desirable Skills
* Experience with safety‑critical systems
* Knowledge of standards like DefStan 00-55, DO-178C & DO-330
* Understanding of Real Time Operating Systems
* Model Driven Design experience
* Knowledge of test automation methods
* Experience with tools like DOORS, Engineering Workflow Management (EWM), Rapita Suite, Rhapsody, and LDRA
* Breakpoint Analysis experience
* Experience of Focused Code Reviews
