Job Description:
We're looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Design team based in Liverpool. The team designs a wide range of building types and site redevelopments across various construction sectors such as education, retail, blue light, conservation, and commercial, for both public and private clients. Hours: 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility available—just let us know during your application or interview.
What will you be responsible for?
As Senior Structural Engineer, you'll support the Civil and Structural Engineering team by producing and checking structural design calculations, preparing and reviewing structural drawings, models, reports, specifications, and schedules.
Your daily tasks will include:
* Coordinating structural engineering design information within the team and with other disciplines such as architecture, landscape architecture, and building services engineering.
* Developing and implementing structural concept design strategies, ensuring sustainability and low carbon targets are met.
* Visiting sites, conducting surveys and inspections, and representing the team at project meetings with clients and other professionals.
* Mentoring junior engineers and technicians as part of our commitment to professional development.
* Assisting in obtaining necessary building consents and supporting project consultations with authorities.
What are we looking for?
This role is ideal for candidates who:
* Hold qualifications such as BSc, MSc, BEng, or MEng in Structural or Civil Engineering, and are Chartered Engineers (CEng) or members of the Institution of Structural Engineers or Civil Engineers.
* Have experience with structural steelwork and reinforced concrete design according to British/European standards, with knowledge of CDM regulations and UK construction techniques.
* Possess a full driving license for site visits.
