Cover Supervisor / HLTA SEN Support, Lead, and Inspire

Are you confident in managing a classroom and passionate about making a difference for students with additional needs?
Vision for Education is seeking Cover Supervisors to work across a range of SEN schools in Somerset and the surrounding areas from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with experience in education or youth work to step into a lead classroom role with full training and support provided.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor in an SEN setting, you will:
* Deliver pre-planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher
* Support students with SEND and SEMH needs in small classes or one-to-one
* Promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment
* Work alongside experienced SEN professionals to ensure students feel safe, included, and engaged
These roles are ideal for:
* Experienced Teaching Assistants or Learning Mentors ready to step up
* Graduates exploring a career in teaching or education
* Individuals with youth work or care experience looking to transition into schools
What We re Looking For
* Experience supporting young people in education, care, or youth settings
* Confidence managing classroom behaviour in a positive, calm way
* An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, SEND and SEMH needs
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
* A flexible, patient, and resilient approach to challenges
A degree or Level 3 qualification is desirable, but not essential if you have relevant experience.
